BAKU, Azerbaijan — On the shores of the Caspian Sea lies a giant fake sperm whale reeking with the stench of rotten fish during the United Nations' COP29 climate summit in Baku, Azerbaijan. Created by Belgian artist and activist Captain Boomer Collective, the display was planted to drum up drama surrounding the UN event, complete with actors posing as scientists pretending to take samples of the creature. The New American Senior Editor Alex Newman spoke with two of the whale "researchers" behind the stunt, plus Craig Rucker, the president of CFACT, whose organization is involved in litigation to save whales from the devastating effects of windmills along the coast. Despite showmanship from climate alarmists, the COP29 summit is underscored by gloom as Donald Trump's mandate victory appears to indicate a retreat from dumping billions of U.S. taxpayer money into global warming initiatives. One of the “scientists” behind the display said he hoped people would “use their brain.”

Robson, who is attending the COP29 as a journalist, argues that the reason climate alarmists are pushing renewable energies is that they truly believe if developed Western nations can set an example, the rest of the world will follow. The answer to this problem is that climate skeptics must be well informed to offer substantive reasons to environmentalists as to why the weather and climate are not getting worse, Robson said.

BAKU, Azerbaijan — The United Nations narrative and agenda on alleged man-made “climate change” are coming apart with the election of President Donald Trump and growing awareness among governments and young people, argued market-oriented environmental leader Craig Rucker in an interview with The New American magazine Senior Editor Alex Newman at the UN COP29 climate conference. Rucker, the founder and chief of the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT), noted that very few national leaders attended this year’s UN summit. And as young people learn the facts about the UN’s endless series of failed predictions, it becomes easy for them to see the manipulation, he added. Rucker mentioned several conversations with delegates from governments of developing countries who have lost confidence in the UN process. Many of them, he said, are even pro-Trump. Governments including those in Argentina and Papua New Guinea do not even have negotiators at the COP29, he added.
