Bitter or Better?

When someone hurts you, do you tend to: 1. Replay the conversation in your head over and over 😭 2. Make up a conversation where you tell them what you really think 😤 3. Vent to friends, family members, or on social media 😡 When a conversation triggers you, or you feel yourself dwelling on something painful from your past, do the unthinkable: Let it go, lead with kindness, and live out forgiveness! Letting go of your past isn't easy. It could be something to do with your sexual past. You did something that at the time seemed fun, and now, years later, there's just shame and feelings of guilt. Or maybe it's a bad decision you made, and it's starting to catch up with you. You hate how you feel and don't know what to do. You wish you had never made that decision in the first place. Choosing What Truly Matters

We all are looking for better. Some wish for a better year than the last, while others hope for better relationships, careers, and financial situations. There's nothing wrong with wanting better. Unfortunately, most find themselves drawn to what the world says is better when God has something immeasurably better to offer. In this message, our key verse came from the Psalmist, who said, "For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere." He was essentially saying that a day with God is better. The challenge is we don't believe that verse, and even if we did, the question arises: How do you spend an entire day with God? In this message, Pastor Lance talked about that very thing: how you can maintain an ongoing, unending awareness of God's presence every day.
