On the Third Day

March 14, 2021 • Ps. Rob Spina

On the third day John 2:1 NIV On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, Genesis 1:9-10 NLT Then God said, “Let the waters beneath the sky flow together into one place, so dry ground may appear.” And that is what happened. God called the dry ground “land” and the waters “seas.” And God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:11 NLT Then God said, “Let the land sprout with vegetation—every sort of seed-bearing plant, and trees that grow seed-bearing fruit. These seeds will then produce the kinds of plants and trees from which they came.” And that is what happened. Genesis 1:12 NLT The land produced vegetation—all sorts of seed-bearing plants, and trees with seed-bearing fruit. Their seeds produced plants and trees of the same kind. And God saw that it was good. John 2:2 NIV and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. John 2:3 NIV When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.” John 2:4 NIV “Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.” John 2:5 NIV His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” John 2:6 NIV Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons. John 2:7 NIV Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim. John 2:8 NIV Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.” And They did so, Galatians 6:10 TPT Take advantage of every opportunity to be a blessing to others, especially to our brothers and sisters in the family of faith! John 2:9 NLT When the master of ceremonies tasted the water that was now wine, not knowing where it had come from (though, of course, the servants knew), he called the bridegroom over. John 2:10 NLT “A host always serves the best wine first,” he said. “Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have kept the best until now!” John 2:11 NLT This miraculous sign at Cana in Galilee was the first time Jesus revealed his glory. And his disciples believed in him.
