Do All Paths Lead To God?

There are no shortage of opinions surrounding who God is, and how to get to Him. Some would say that there are many ways to earn God's favor, while Jesus made the claim that He is the only way. Could Jesus have been wrong? If He's not wrong, then what happens to those who follow different paths? ALPHA AT THE HEIGHTS We believe everyone should have the chance to explore the Christian faith, ask questions and share their point of view. Alpha is a series of sessions exploring these Christian faith. Each talk looks at a different question and is designed to create open conversation. Is God a Democrat or Republican?

Samuel Adams, one of our founding fathers, once said "Let each citizen remember at the moment he is offering his vote…that he is executing one of the most solemn trusts in human society for which he is accountable to God and his country.” While many would say God has an opinion on politics, knowing what His opinion is can a be much more difficult thing determine.
Should the Church Embrace Homosexuality?

There is not a more divisive topic in the church today than homosexuality. Some would say that the church should stick to its historical stance against homosexuality. Others suggest that the church's historical viewpoint is antiquated and discriminatory. What would God say?
Why Does God Allow So Much Suffering?

The author & philosopher Sam Harris made this strong statement after the earthquake and subsequent Tsunami that rocked Japan in 2011. “Either God can do nothing to stop catastrophes like this, or he doesn't care to, or he doesn’t exist. God is either impotent, evil, or imaginary. Take your pick, and choose wisely.” Could he be right? Why would a loving God allow so much suffering?
