Jesus asked a man who had been disabled for 38 years if he wanted to be healed, but He didn't wait for the man's answer. He not only healed the disability, He rebuilt the weak muscles that hadn't walked in all that time and made the man able to get up off the ground and walk! If you've ever been through rehab after an injury that kept you off your feet for even a couple weeks, you know that was a double miracle! But what about the question? Why did Jesus ask the man if he wanted to be well, and then not wait for an answer? Maybe he wanted the man to think about what it really meant to be healed, and about what he'd have to give up to be healed.
