No Buts!

November 28, 2021 • Weston Savell • 1 Thessalonians 2:4, 2 Corinthians 10:18, Colossians 1:21–22, 1 Corinthians 3:12–15, 1 Kings 15:11

The really important question is, "What would your epitaph say if God was writing it?" Will it say, "He was a really good man, but..."? "She surrendered her life to God, but..."? What is the "but" in your life, the thing that you are holding on to that you don't want to surrender to God? And what rewards will that "but" keep you from, both here on earth and in heaven for eternity? 1 Corinthians 3:13-15 (NLT) But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person’s work has any value. 14 If the work survives, that builder will receive a reward. 15 But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builder will be saved, but like someone barely escaping through a wall of flames.
