Heretic - Week 3: The Bible is Just Another Book

May 30, 2021 • Rev. Adam Baker

The Gathering Live // May 30 // Heretic // Week 3

What we believe matters. It has implications for how we live, what we focus on, and how we look at the world. Early Christians thought that it was important to believe the right things about faith, and to point out the wrong beliefs. They called these wrong beliefs heresy. We have inherited a pretty negative view of that word. Heretic denotes people who are judgmental or close-minded. But in reality, these early Christians were simply trying to point out why certain beliefs didn’t best represent God. In this series, we will explore modern day “heresies” – beliefs that are arrived at in good faith but may have unintended implications for our faith in God.
