Gathering Youth will be serving alongside Galveston Urban Ministries in Galveston, Texas, sharing the gospel in the North Broadway community.​

Galveston Urban Ministries (GUM) is a gospel-centered ministry that serves its neighborhood by proclaiming the good news of Jesus, building lasting relationships, and discipling neighbors into connection with local churches. Their desire is to see the North Broadway community thrive through healthy families, good-paying jobs, and, above all, knowing the love of Jesus.

During our time with GUM, we will learn about poverty from several angles while also digging deeper into what God created us for and discovering our God-given purpose. Each day will include morning devotions and Bible study, hands-on mission projects, and Street Camp for neighborhood children.​

Mission projects will focus especially on serving widows and people with disabilities through tasks like landscaping, power washing, and painting homes, and they are designed so that every volunteer can participate safely, regardless of skill level. Street Camp, which is similar to VBS, will be offered to children in the community as a fun and engaging way to share God’s love.
