The word blessed has become a pretty common word used in a lot of different situations. We use it to describe anything from winning a game or award to signifying wealth. We sometimes think we’re “blessed” when we feel like things are going the way we want them to. It seems like our sense of being “blessed” ends up depending on the day, the time, and what’s going on in our lives. In other words, our view of blessed is often tethered to a continually changing spectrum—our circumstances. If life is good, in our view, we’re blessed. If life isn’t going well, in our view, we’re not blessed. But is our definition of being blessed—life going well—the same as God’s? The next few weeks, we’re going to take a look at how God defines blessed. It turns out, we’re very likely missing how blessed we all really are—regardless of what’s going on around us.
