In Matt 16:18, Jesus spoke of His intentions to build "His" church. This demonstrates that "church" was not man's idea, but God's. It also teaches that the gathering of believers is an essential part of the Christian faith. It is in the setting of the local church that we gather to worship our Savior, hear His word, grow in faith, and find the very Will of God for our lives!
