Death of Folly
March 19, 2023 • Joseph Presutti • Ecclesiastes 10:8–14, 1 Corinthians 1:21
The world’s wisdom is folly. Folly is prideful. Folly is impulsive. The world’s wisdom is folly. God’s wisdom is life. We always consider that sin is a constant threat and grace is a constant need. Pray in everything. We reflect on whether we’re being sinful first. We don’t get distracted from the Gospel. We accept that we’re going to make bad decisions. We ask others for advice.

Our Broken Worship of God
February 5, 2023 • Joseph Presutti • Ecclesiastes 5:1, Hebrews 10:22, Hebrews 4:16, Ecclesiastes 5:2–5, Ecclesiastes 5:6–7
Our Broken Worship of God 1. Our desire in worship of God is broken. “Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. To draw near to listen is better than to offer the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they are doing evil.” Ecclesiastes 5:1 The Gospel is about the perfect desire of Jesus. 1. Our desire in worship of God is broken. 2. Our promises in worship of God are broken. “2 Be not rash with your mouth, nor let your heart be hasty to utter a word before God, for God is in heaven and you are on earth. Therefore, let your words be few. 3 For a dream comes with much business, and a fool's voice with many words. 4 When you vow a vow to God, do not delay paying it, for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you vow. 5 It is better that you should not vow than that you should vow and not pay.” Ecclesiastes 5:2-5 The Gospel is about our broken promises fixed by Jesus. 1. Our desire in worship of God is broken. 2. Our promises in worship of God are broken. 3. Our fear in worship of God is broken. “6 Let not your mouth lead you into sin, and do not say before the messenger that it was a mistake. Why should God be angry at your voice and destroy the work of your hands? 7 For when dreams increase and words grow many, there is vanity; but God is the one you must fear.” Ecclesiastes 5:6-7 The Gospel is about the perfect love of Jesus casting out our broken fear. “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.” Hebrews 10:22 “Therefore, let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16
