There is much more to the Christian life than just forgiveness of sins - God wants to produce qualities like love, joy, and patience in us by leading us to walk in the Spirit.
Jesus has set us free to know Him and love others, keeping extra religious rules just gets in the way but be warned: people will try to persuade otherwise.
