Ephesians 6:1-9 can be hard to understand, and in places a misunderstanding of what Paul meant can be shocking. What is perhaps more shocking is that Paul emphasised that starting a personal revolution by daily submitting our lives to be imitators of the Fathers love for us, expressed most clearly by what Jesus won for us at the cross, is a higher priority than overthrowing the dominant culture and starting a social and cultural revolution.
