The letter of 1 John was written for two main reasons - to correct false teaching, and encourage the church.

In part 1 of our new series in this letter, Martin looked at the opening verses, which focus in on the nature of Christ; the one who has always existed, and made it possible for us to have eternal life - that is, to know Him - through being born as a man.
