The heart of cancel culture is this: you, are not allowed to speak. Offense is met with silencing and shutting down. The Christian message is offensive to many in our society, looking to stop us from speaking. Yet we must – we have been commissioned by God to speak Christ. How can we do it not only in response to cancel culture, but also as an antidote – to show there’s a more gracious, kind, forgiving way to engage with one another when we disagree?

Head On: Morality

It was a pleasure to have guest speaker James Mildred come and talk to us on the topic of morality. Everyone has a set of morals, but on what are they based? James shows us that the worlds way of defining morality is subjective, whereas Christian morality is based upon the character of God himself, and so cannot change. And contrary to popular belief, a life in submission to God's ways is where the good life is to be found.

Head On: Identity

July 3, 2022 • Andrew Bunt • Ephesians 2:1–10

Andrew explored the topic of identity, defining identity as our ‘controlling self-understanding'. The big question everyone has to ask themselves is ‘Who am I?’, but Andrew argued that the more foundational question to ask is ‘How do I find who I am?’ Andrew outlined the three main ways in which people can find who they are, showing us how one of them is far better and more true than the other two.
