What does it mean to be a disciple? Is the term antiquated - only reasonable for Jesus's own personal entourage that were the original witnesses of the work at the cross of Christ? Is it a catchy idea that refers to a church program or study? The Great Commisson is every Christian's mission. In Matthew 28:19, Jesus commands: "Go, therefore and make disciples of all nations." In other words, God has placed us in a Tribe, in a community, to be disciples and disciplers. God wants you to study the Bible and learn to walk in the faith, and then help others to the same.
This week we will be looking at a sermon from 2 Timothy 1:1-14. As Paul faces death, he is determined to continue discipling Timothy. Paul celebrates, coaches, and challenges Timothy, his son in the faith, to advance the gospel to faithful men who will in turn teach others, so that the gospel is maintained for coming generations.
