Have you ever heard someone say, "I felt the prayer?" In Joshua 10, we see a looming battle and as the Israelites gain the upper hand and we see an amazing prayer. Joshua 10:14 says, “There has been no day like it before or since when the Lord heeded the voice of the man.” Joshua prayed an audacious prayer, Sun stand still and God did it.

Community in Discipleship
September 24, 2023 • Pastor Rick Wright • 2 Timothy 2:1–2, 2 Timothy 1:1–14
What does it mean to be a disciple? Is the term antiquated - only reasonable for Jesus's own personal entourage that were the original witnesses of the work at the cross of Christ? Is it a catchy idea that refers to a church program or study? The Great Commisson is every Christian's mission. In Matthew 28:19, Jesus commands: "Go, therefore and make disciples of all nations." In other words, God has placed us in a Tribe, in a community, to be disciples and disciplers. God wants you to study the Bible and learn to walk in the faith, and then help others to the same. This week we will be looking at a sermon from 2 Timothy 1:1-14. As Paul faces death, he is determined to continue discipling Timothy. Paul celebrates, coaches, and challenges Timothy, his son in the faith, to advance the gospel to faithful men who will in turn teach others, so that the gospel is maintained for coming generations.
Community in Burden Bearing
September 17, 2023 • Pastor Rick Wright • Exodus 17:8–15, Galatians 6:1–6
Do you like to lift weights? I love to lift weights! I have had an on and off relationship with lifting weights since I was 11 years old. There is a feeling of accomplishment when something is very heavy and you have defeated it by lifting it; you show that weight just who's the boss. Well...In Exodus 17, Moses is called to hold a rod in his hand, and as long as he could hold out that rod, Israel would prevail in their battle against Amalek, but after a while the task gets difficult and his hands get weak and the load becomes daunting to bear. ... Enter Aaron and Hur. Galatians 6:2 "Bear ye one another's burdens and so fulfil the law of Christ." CCW we are called to help bear the weight so those around us are not crushed. Join us this Sunday at 10 AM as Pastor Rick preaches "Community in Burden-Bearing."
Community in Hospitality
September 10, 2023 • Pastor Rick Wright • Acts 2:41–47
In Acts 2 we see the inception and progression of the Church. Have you ever wondered what took place to form the early Church? In Acts 2, we get a history of the rudimentary structure of church. A synopsis of Acts 2:42-47: People were saved and baptized then they devoted themselves to the Word of God, fellowship, breaking bread, praying, giving, and praising daily in the temple and from house to house. Most vital to the continuation of that early Church was the hospitality of its members. Persecution was rampant and it was through the hospitality of the Church that people were fed, lodged, hidden, and helped to continue the spread of the gospel. Hospitality allows the Church to show Jesus to the lost and bring care for its own. Join us this Sunday for Pastor Rick's Sermon, "Community through Hospitality."
