Knowing God is seeing God

August 26, 2018 • Dr. Danny Lovett

If you were to ask me, “Pastor Danny, why does CCW exist?” my reply would be, “CCW exists so that you might know God.” And when we know God, we want to share God with everybody we know. In fact, that is the purpose of man’s existence. For us to live our life apart from the knowledge of God is for us to be useless individuals. It does not matter what else you do because it won't matter for eternity’s sake. A person who doesn’t know God has no real meaning in life. We were made for Him as well as by Him, and our purpose is to know Him and spend eternity basking in the blessing of such knowledge. Jeremiah 9:23-24 says “Thus says the Lord, let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, let the mighty man glory in his might, nor let the rich man glory in his riches; but let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord." In this life you may be strong, smart, and rich, but you are nothing unless you know God. God made us that we might know Him and fellowship with Him. When we come into the knowledge of God, we are given the key that unlocks the universe and we know the purpose for our existence. This Sunday, the title of the message is “Knowing God Is Seeing God.”

Knowing the God of Comfort

November 4, 2018 • Dr. Danny Lovett

Even though, we're God’s children, we still have problems. Second Timothy 2:3 says for us to "endure hardness as good soldiers of Jesus Christ." If you lose your job, if you lose your health, if the forces of evil seem to be attacking you, if the economy is not working in your favor, and you're not happy with the election results, or if your friends turn away and everything is going wrong, you may want to just be disappointed in God. You may want to resent the Lord. I may have doubts and questions about what God's doing. I may not like how he's running the world, but... I must continue to do one thing. I must continue to rejoice in the Lord. He is our strength, He is our rock, He is our salvation (Psalm.27:1). This Sunday, the title of the message is Knowing the God of Comfort. We will take a look at how we can have comfort in uncomfortable times.

Knowing the God who is our Judge and Father

October 21, 2018 • Dr. Danny Lovett

Far too often when people discuss God, they ignore His justice and judgement and only emphasize His love. This is dangerous, for God’s nature is both loving and just. In fact, God’s justice and judgement are based on His love. It is God’s love for all who truly believe in and trust Him that arouses His righteous judgement to strike out against those who mistreat His followers. Furthermore, God requires that His holy name be honored. It's so important that this is included as one of the Ten Commandments. God will execute vengeance on all who reject, neglect, and curse His Holy Name. This Sunday's message is Knowing The God Who is Our Judge and Father.
