“After all of the prophecies and stern warnings, the time has come for Judah’s King Zedekiah and
Jerusalem and the temple to be besieged by Babylon and King Nebuchadnezzar and even at this desperate moment Zedekiah seems to be in denial as he sends a messenger to Jeremiah to inquire if God will save them and upon hearing He won’t, Zedekiah imprisons Jeremiah, the messenger.”
