Failure to Confront

One of the things we value about relationships is peace. This means we don’t want there to be strife and grief. There is a time when someone in a relationship will do something that is offensive or hurtful. Instead of confronting and having the difficult conversation, we choose to ignore it in the name of “peace.” However, there’s a difference between peace and silence. What we don’t realize is that the peace has already been disrupted. We also choose not to confront out of fear. When we choose to remain silent and not confront issues, there is breathing ground for bitterness, division, and frustration which then makes a relationship tense. We detox from this toxin by learning how to have loving candour.
