Conversations With Jesus
What If You Could Talk With Jesus? | Jun-Aug 2018
Shock And Assumptions
Junior Ziegler
Mary had a conversation outside of Jesus' tomb with someone who she thought was the gardner. After the man revealed who he was, her conversation with him not only changed her life, but changed the world. Junior unpacks for us what this means for us: Because of what happened there that day, we know that Jesus is always there - even if we feel like Mary outside the tomb before she found Jesus alive and well.
Under Pressure
Scott Ziegler
Jesus had a conversation with Pontius Pilate before he was sent to his crucifixion that left Pilate more confused about Jesus than he was initially. That's because there was something Jesus was trying to explain to him that he just didn't get - which Scott unwraps for us.
Flustered
Scott Ziegler
Martha came to Jesus frustrated with someone else, but wound up having a life-changing conversation with him where Jesus revealed to her where she was in the wrong. Scott shows us how we can sometimes relate to Martha and need to focus on the important rather than the immediate.
A Let Down
Junior Ziegler
After a conversation Jesus had with a rich young ruler, the young man walked away disappointed. Jesus told him that in order to follow God wholeheartedly, he needed to give up the one thing he loved the most - what he loved more than God. Junior tells us what this conversation means for us and what it means to surrender everything to God.
Gotcha
Junior Ziegler
We've all done things we are ashamed of. The adulterous woman that was brought before Jesus by the Pharisees would have been consumed by it - she would have been stoned to death because of the decision she had made - but a conversation she had with Jesus set her free not only from her sentence, but from her shame. Junior unpacks this for us and shows us how we all need to put down our stones and realize we all need Jesus to set us free.
The Dinner Party
Scott Ziegler
This conversation with Jesus centered around a dramatic event that happened at a dinner party. A woman came in and knelt down, crying at Jesus' feet, wiped the tears of his feet with her, and emptied an alabaster jar of perfume over them. It was a passionate and personal act of worship, but the people at the dinner party were too focused on judging her to see that. Scott walks us through Jesus' response to that and shows us how we need to be more like that woman and less like the party guests.
Quenching The Thirst
Junior Ziegler
In this conversation between Jesus and the woman at the well, Jesus tells this woman that he is "the living water", and that whoever comes to him will "never thirst." Junior further explains for us what this means, and how we often try to quench our thirst with things that never satisfy.
