In John 16:7 Jesus says that he must go away, if he doesn’t the Helper (the Holy Spirit) will not come. When Jesus died, He sent the Holy Spirit to indwell His believers. The Spirit guarantees our salvation, leads us in truth, empowers the gifts and fruit in our lives to allow us to live like Jesus did. The Holy Spirit was with God and Jesus in the beginning and he has been given a major role in the lives of believers. Throughout this conference we will explore more of who He is, what His role is and has been in our lives, where we see Him in history, and how to daily walk with Him. (See below for description of the weekend)
The first session on Friday will begin at 7pm (light snacks available by 6:30). On Saturday our first session will begin at 9:15. Breakfast will be available at 8:30. In order to best accommodate the food needs of everyone, we ask that you please register by 7/26. Any sign-ups after 7/26 we can not guarantee that allergies will be able to be accommodated for. We anticipate the last session ending on Saturday late afternoon.
Breakouts:
1. Spirit-Led Women in Church History
The Holy Spirit has been active in believers lives since Jesus’ death. In this breakout we will explore various stories of women in church history who were used by God. Their stories reveal the powerful working of the Holy Spirit in and through us when we surrender to him.
2. Family Life in the Spirit
Whether you are married with kids, have no kids or grown up kids, are single, are a single parent, or are looking forward to this stage of life, this breakout will walk through what it looks like to live by the Spirit at home with a husband and children. How do you follow promptings from the Holy Spirit in the midst of changing a diaper, in the midst of a disagreement, and more? Let’s talk about it!
3. Relationship with the Holy Spirit
This breakout will cover the basics of what it means to be in relationship with the Holy Spirit which involves memorizing Scripture and knowing the Bible, praying, having fellowship with the Holy Spirit. We often wonder how we can know if the Holy Spirit is leading us, and how do you hear him? We will talk about that and what it is to walk with him day by day, moment by moment.
*This breakout is mandatory, everybody will participate in this one.
