I AM the Good Shepherd

March 28, 2021 • Dave DiDonato

As the Good Shepherd, Jesus chose death that we may receive eternal life through him

As the Good Shepherd, Jesus offers unrivaled intimacy

As the Good Shepherd, Jesus delivers eternal security

As Jesus’ sheep, believers know and follow his Word

As Jesus’ sheep, believers model his compassion for the lost sheep of this world

I AM the Way, Truth and Life

April 11, 2021 • Ron Moore

THE SEVEN I AM STATEMENTS OF JESUS • I am the bread of life—John 6:35 • I am the light of the World—John 8:12 • I am the gate for the sheep—John 10:7 • I am the good shepherd—John 10:11 • I am the resurrection and the life—John 11:25 • I am the way and the truth and the life—John 14:6 • I am the true vine—John 15:1 We live in a world of • Secularism: No God • Postmodernism: All truth is relative. • Moral Therapeutic Deism: God (whoever he, she, it is) just wants me to be happy. Why does Jesus say he is the only way to God? • GOD’S JUSTICE DEMANDED DEATH FOR SIN. • GOD’S LOVE PROVIDED A SUBSTITUTE SACRIFICE. • GOD SENT HIS SON—FULLY GOD, FULLY MAN—AS THE PERFECT SUBSTITUTE SACRIFICE. Jesus is the only person who came down from heaven and returned there. John 3:13 No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. Jesus is the only person who lived a perfect human life. Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Jesus is the only sacrifice for sin. 1 John 2:2 He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. Jesus is the only man to have conquered death Hebrews 2:14-15 Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery. If Jesus didn’t conquer death we are most to be pitied. 1 Corinthians 15:20-22 But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.
