Because of Jesus…every Christian is an eternally blessed Christian.
(Luke 1:48; 51 and Matthew 25:34)

Because of Jesus…every Christian should daily live with humble hunger for their God.
(Luke 1:48; 52 and Matthew 5:6)

Because of Jesus…every Christian’s ultimate desire should be to magnify their God.
(Luke 1:46-47)

Eye of Joy

December 19, 2021 • Ron Moore • Luke 2:1–20

In the story of Jesus’ birth, we learn a significant attribute of God: He is sovereign over all things. He is in control of history. He holds the heart of every ruler in his hand. Jeremiah 1:12 Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it.” In God’s eternal mind with his eternal power, he controls history in accordance with his eternal plan. Christian joy is not circumstantial; it is relational. Joy is not based on my circumstances, but on my relationship with Jesus. That relationship can never change. That’s where my identity is—In Jesus I am: • Significant • Secure • Accepted • Forgiven • Empowered The Good News of Jesus is always the basis for great joy. Eye of Wonder

December 5, 2021 • Ron Moore • Luke 1:26–45

5 Characteristics about Jesus (Luke 1:32-33): 1. He will be great (cf. Micah 5:4). 2. He will be called the Son of the Most High (cf. 2 Sam. 7:14; Ps. 2:7). 3. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David (cf. 2 Sam. 7:12; Ps. 132:11; Micah 5:2) 4. He will reign over the house of Jacob (cf. Micah 5:3–4) 5. His kingdom will have no end (cf. Dan. 2:44; 7:14, 18, 27).* Foundational Truths of the Christian Faith: 1. The Christian faith hinges on the truth of the Virgin Birth. 2. True believers accept Jesus on his terms, regardless of the personal cost. Question: Are you living for Jesus on his terms…or yours? *Utley, R. J. (2004).
