What About Government?

Today's Application 1. Obey, honor, and pray for elected leaders unless obedience to them forces clear disobedience to God 2. Support candidates who advocate for biblical values to the extent that you can discern their true position on matters of shared concern 3. Consider running for public office and applying God-honoring principles to your role there 4. Focus on discipling a small group of people within the church to apply God’s truth to areas of public policy and, if you are a parent, do so often in your home 5. Get your hands dirty in areas that better society 6. Moderate your intake of extra Biblical voices positing truth 7. Invest deeply in making your local church as healthy as possible 8. Talk about God’s Word and its implications for policy more than you do about people and personalities 9. Move conversations about political matters offline and into trusted relationships 10. Resist demonizing others who are made in God’s image, even if their views are radically different than your own
