Holy Saturday, sometimes called "Silent" Saturday, falls on the sabbath. Jesus followers were still in shock and mourning the events of the crucifixion during the sabbath day of rest, but little did they know that Jesus was doing anything but resting, he was securing victory over death and the grave and establishing a new covenant.

Good Friday

Good Friday is the moment the world forever changes. Jesus offers himself as a willing sacrifice, in order secure salvation for all who would believe. For his followers, it is a day of despair and anguish, as they watched the one who was love incarnate, die a violent death. They laid him to rest in a borrowed tomb, but he wouldn't stay there long.

Holy "Maundy" Thursday

On Holy Thursday, Jesus shares a meal with his disciples at the last supper. Here, he encourages them to love one another, as He has loved them. After the meal he goes to the garden of Gethsemane to pray and he is seized by temple authorities for trial. In just a few short hours, Jesus will be sentenced to death.

Holy Wednesday

On Holy Wednesday, Jesus was anointed by a woman at Simon the lepers house, in an act of extravagant worship. Judas finalizes his plan with the chief priests to hand over Jesus for trial.
