This Way to the Jordan
New Life, New Way Part 1 • March 22, 2020 • Pastor Chris Harper
This Sunday we’re beginning a series: New Life, New Way. Each week we’re going to re- trace some of the most significant steps of Jesus’ ministry while on earth. However, this sacred journey goes far beyond a historical event. As we follow His steps every area of our life is transformed (that is, every area we choose to surrender).
Fix Your Eyes on Jesus
Text: Hebrews 12:1-2 NIV - Pastor Lenny Corliss • March 8, 2020 • Pastor Lenny Corliss
The Christian faith is depicted throughout the bible by various “metaphors”. Some are Shepherd and Sheep, Members of One Body, the Vine and Branches, Soldier in Armor, etc. Today we look at the picture of the Christians life as a track, course or path on which our journey is run on a daily basis. We’ll focus particularly on the fact that we ALL FALL DOWN and what we should do when this happens.
The Voice of the Spirit
Clarity Part 8 • March 1, 2020 • Pastor Chris Harper
This Sunday, we talk about hearing the voice of God through Scripture and the leading of the Spirit. Feel welcome to reflect on Acts 2 to prepare. (Remember the principles we talked about last Sunday, keeping our awareness of the Author as fully present with us as we meditate and study this passage) Our theme verse for 2020 is 2 Chronicles 20:20, "...believe in the Lord your God, and you will be established; believe His prophets, and you will succeed."
The Sweet Wine of Understanding
Clarity Part 7 • February 23, 2020 • Pastor Chris Harper
This Sunday, Pastor Chris talks about the actual clarity of Scripture, and how to correctly identify meaning in our reading and Bible study. Read Nehemiah 8:1-12 and Psalm 119 to prepare. Our theme verse for 2020 is 2 Chronicles 20:20, "...believe in the Lord your God, and you will be established; believe His prophets, and you will succeed."
Knowing Your Current Location
Clarity, Part 3 • January 26, 2020 • Pastor Chris Harper
All that God chooses to be clear is being made clear to those who faithfully seek the truth, willing to submit to the truth, and actively believe the truth. 2 Chronicles 20:20 (ESV) ...Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem! Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be established; believe his prophets, and you will succeed.”
Believing is Seeing
Clarity, Part 2 • January 19, 2020 • Pastor Chris Harper
This Sunday, Pastor Chris continues our series on 2 Chronicles 20. If you're reading along with us, spend time in 2 Chronicles 16-20 before Sunday for good context. Clarity: Regaining Spiritual Clarity in a Fuzzy World is a timely message as we enter the new year. There is a host of confusing messages throughout our culture; this series explores the issues that the Bible addresses with complete clarity. Our theme verse is 2 Chronicles 20:20, "...believe in the Lord your God, and you will be established; believe His prophets, and you will succeed."
Our Eyes Are On You
CLARITY, Part 1 • January 12, 2020 • Pastor Chris Harper
The Holy Spirit continues to fill my heart with CLARITY of vision along with an exciting sense of urgency for God’s calling upon the SWC community. For those new to this mission, we seek to faithfully and generously help the hurting and make disciple-makers. This is not a mission new to the Church, but in all reality, is an awakening to the ministry of Jesus Christ- incarnational in every way. So, welcome to the shared joy of God’s work, and welcome to a community that takes seriously our commitment to you as part of His family. Over the next few Sundays, I’m preaching on the the "20/20" clarity granted to those who seek truth. 2 Chron. 20:20 “...believe in the Lord your God, and you will be established; believe his prophets, and you will succeed.” We should never be satisfied with incomplete understandings or blurred ideas on anything that God has chosen to make clear to His own: true knowledge, His will and guidance in our daily choices, understanding Scripture, eternity, and completeness (shalom). Let’s boldly step into this new decade, with the power of the Holy Spirit and His CLARITY. Pastor Chris

Joy is an important part of the life of a believer. Right from the beginning it was proclaimed by the angel, “I bring you good news of GREAT JOY for all people...” David prayed that the JOY of his salvation would be restored. Joy is a fruit of the Spirit, however, as is true in most cases, we are actively involved in the receiving of this gift.
Game Changer: Year End Celebration
December 29, 2019 • Pastor Chris Harper
Game changer- an action or person that effects significantly the status quo. According to John 20:21 (ESV) 21 Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” Two Key Questions: How can we bring real positive change to our individual centers of influence?” How can we help two to three people this year, know and become more like Jesus?”
The Womb of Hope
His Way Part 13 • December 22, 2019 • Pastor Chris Harper
This Sunday, Pastor Chris continues our His Way series, in I Corinthians 15. We talk about the hope we have as a result of the advent and, ultimately, the resurrection of our Savior, Jesus. Reading along with us? Please spend time in Matthew 1:18-25, and I Corinthians 15.
His Way Part 11 • December 1, 2019 • Pastor Chris Harper
This Sunday, we continue our "His Way" series in I Corinthians, and begin the wonderful season of Advent. Pastor Chris discusses a godly definition of love, found in this well-known text written by the apostle Paul. Reading along with us? Spend time in I Corinthians 13.
Thankful for the Spirit’s Gifts
His Way Part 10 • November 24, 2019 • Pastor Chris Harper
Today the Holy Spirit has set a Thanksgiving feast for us. We have much to be thankful for. Today, we’re especially thankful for the spiritual, or as could be appropriately called the supernatural gifts, of the Holy Spirit. These gifts make us go “WOW”…but the gifts go far deeper than a WOW, they go into “WE desperately NEED THIS.” The good news is, what we need has been given us, by the Spirit.
