December 23: Mary & Joseph, Part 2

Advent Calendar

December 23, 2021 • Michael Hearn • Luke 2:1–7

REFLECT: The story of Jesus is unlike any other story. The Creator of the universe, the very son of God, would humble Himself to take on the form of a servant. He took on flesh to come live among His creation so that His life could be a ransom for many. He would live the life that you and I could never live and He would die the death that you and I deserved to die. He took the wrath of God upon Himself and rose again in victory from death’s hollowed gaze. All of this, so that we could exchange our brokenness for His righteousness.
So this Christmas, reflect on the truth that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that whoever believes in Him will have eternal life.

RESPOND: Have you embraced this truth in your own life? If you have yet to accept the offer of salvation through Jesus, now is the time! Take a moment to pray this prayer today:

"God, I am a sinner and not worthy of your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus is the Christ and has died in my place to grant me forgiveness for all my sins. I accept Him as my Lord and Savior today and am ready to begin living for Him this Christmas Season."

If you prayed that prayer for the first time, we’d love to know about it! Text us at 360-260-8300 to let us know. One of our pastors would love to meet with you and help you get started in your new relationship with Jesus.

Already a follower of Jesus? Spend some time today thanking Him for saving you. Ask Him to reveal areas of your life He wants to redeem and grow you in this Christmas.
