Jesus, the Good Shepherd, gives you eternal life, knows you personally, keeps you eternally...but does He OWN you? This is counter-cultural because we value our freedom, our independence; being a "sheep" has a negative connotation. Are you just cuddling up next to the sheep? Trying to blend in? Or are you one of His sheep? Being in proximation to Jesus is not the same as being claimed by Him. He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He and the Father are One.
