The Christmas Commands

Do Worship

December 24, 2017 • December 24, 2017 • Pastor Chad Thompson

Bottom line: When you seek the kingship of Jesus, you find the One who is seeking you with the gift of salvation. If you’ve been found, then do worship Him, rejoicing with exceeding great joy. The angels were commanded to worship Jesus when he was born. (Heb. 1:6) This is a command that we should willingly follow because Jesus is worthy of our worship. He was born to die for our sin so that we could live. How can we not worship Him, rejoicing with exceeding great joy?

Bottom line: God sent His Son into the world to save me through a relationship. I don't DOUBT where I stand with God when i trust what Jesus has DONE for me.

Don't Worry

Bottom line: The opportunity to join God is doing something extraordinary happens when we obey God completely instead of worrying about other people's thinking. There will be times when we face the decision between choosing to please God or please people. Worrying about what people think of you will lead you to not be concerned about what God thinks of you. The flip-side is also true. Being concerned about what God thinks of you will lead you to not worry about what people think of you. The key to overcoming our worry about what people think of us is to surrender ourselves to live for an audience of ONE - God Himself.

Don't Be Afraid

Bottom line: Don't be afraid of what God asks you to do. Own your obedience because God owns the outcome. We often fear God's plans for our lives because His purpose is so different from our plans. We sometimes see his invitation as an inconvenience because we view it as being impossible. The thing about God's invitation is it will always require faith. We need to leave the outcome in God's hands. He is responsible for the outcome. Our responsibility is obedience.
