Bottom line: Because of God's love for His people, He moved into the neighborhood to dwell with us. Because of Jesus' finished work on the cross and the Spirit indwelling us, we can come over anytime we like and stay as long as we want.
When the Jews erected the tabernacle for the very first time, God's glory cloud came down and filled it and squeezed Moses out. In doing so God answered two important questions:
1) God, will you be with us? Yes. I moved into the neighborhood to dwell among you.
2) God, can we come over? Can we have access to you? Yes, if you have a sacrifice.
