Before Jesus was born, Zacharias (father of John the Baptist) praised God and prophesied that Christmas would be a rescue mission to save sinners from sin.
We need a rescuer to rescue us from sin. Sin is not just a theological problem, it is a personal problem. Our sin separates us from God. God sent His Son, Jesus, into the world as a human to do for us what we could never do on our own, pay the price of sin. Christmas is ultimately the story of rescue and reconciliation. Christmas is good news!
