As we come to chapter four Paul gives us in verses 6-13 the classic anti-stress management recipe. The key to this is that this passage actually comes with a stress management guarantee. It’s not guaranteed by a doctor. It’s guaranteed by God. So, you’re going to want to pay attention to this one if you want to lower the stress in your life. Deacon Dave will walk us through the recipe to keep from stressing out.

Most people would probably say something like this: get an education; get a job; get married; have a family; make a lot of money, retire. That’s the path to happiness. But I know a lot of people who have all those things and they’re not happy at all. The Bible says that the path to happiness is something you are never in your wildest idea going to imagine. The path to happiness is through humility. Deacon Dave will explore how humility can lead to our happiness.

One of the common mistakes we all make is we fall into the trap of what I call When and Then thinking. In other words, when such and such happens then I’ll be happy. We fall into this when and then thinking. When I get into college… When I get married… When I have a baby… When I get a job… When my kids are born… When my kids leave the house… When and then thinking… then I’ll be happy. You’re as happy as you choose to be. Msgr. Raun will look at how we can be happy not matter what is going on in our lives.
