For the past eight weeks we’ve been looking at this book of Philippians. We’ve been looking at the Habits of Happiness. Today we wrap up the series by looking at the last habit in the last passage, the last few verses of this incredible book. Paul ends this little book with the greatest promise ever given in the Bible, Philippians 4:19 is the greatest promise God gives to you and to me. Msgr. Raun will explore this great promise of God.

As we come to chapter four Paul gives us in verses 6-13 the classic anti-stress management recipe. The key to this is that this passage actually comes with a stress management guarantee. It’s not guaranteed by a doctor. It’s guaranteed by God. So, you’re going to want to pay attention to this one if you want to lower the stress in your life. Deacon Dave will walk us through the recipe to keep from stressing out.

More important than that it gives us the antidotes, the cures, the remedies, the five cures to keep you from losing your happiness so often, so that your heart doesn’t spring a leak. Msgr. Session 3: The humble Path to Happiness

If you were to ask people, what do you think is the path to happiness? Most people would probably say something like this: get an education; get a job; get married; have a family; make a lot of money, retire. That’s the path to happiness. But I know a lot of people who have all those things and they’re not happy at all. The Bible says that the path to happiness is something you are never in your wildest idea going to imagine. The path to happiness is through humility. Deacon Dave will explore how humility can lead to our happiness.

One of the common mistakes we all make is we fall into the trap of what I call When and Then thinking. In other words, when such and such happens then I’ll be happy. We fall into this when and then thinking. When I get into college… When I get married… When I have a baby… When I get a job… When my kids are born… When my kids leave the house… When and then thinking… then I’ll be happy. You’re as happy as you choose to be. Msgr. Raun will look at how we can be happy not matter what is going on in our lives.
