How difficult it is to enter the kingdom of God! Jesus’ words reveal our self-centered sinful condition which continually leads us away from God and His Kingdom. We have a knack for trusting in all the wrong things. Following Jesus is difficult. In fact, Jesus says it is impossible- as impossible as a camel going through the eye of a needle. Thanks be to God that even though it is impossible for us, God has made it possible through Jesus. He has done all the work to bring us into His Kingdom. He has done the impossible.

The Last Sunday of the Church Year brings us to the edge of anticipation as we prepare for the return of Christ our King. When will it be? How will we know we’re ready? The signs are clear: nature trembles, the heavens open, and the Son of Man appears in glory. The hour may be unknown, but His promise is sure! As we await His coming, we keep an eye on the sky, watching…ready to witness the fulfillment of God’s plan—resurrection, eternal life, and the Kingdom that will have no end. Maranatha. Come, Lord Jesus. Come.

This is the season of giving Thanks - and we have so much to be grateful for. The very last thing that we confess in the Apostles’ Creed is that we believe in the life everlasting – what an incredible gift! As the book of Hebrews points out, this is our confident expectation, so “let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.”
