This Advent, we are preparing for Jesus' birth by meditating on the beginning of John's Gospel. This may seem odd, since John doesn't actually talk about Jesus' birth. Instead, John goes back to the very beginning, showing that the Word, Jesus, was there, even before the creation of the world. Just as then, we wait in this dark world for His Light to shine.
