Has our society created spaces for snakes in our lives? Snakes are secretive. Are you in a “season” that’s “susceptible” to a snake attack? The enemy will attempt to wait you out? Sexually Financially Seasonally Positionally Emotionally And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil. Ephesians 4:26-27 Hurt (Past) Fear (Future) Frustration (Present) But you must resist the devil and stay strong in your faith. You know that all over the world the Lord's followers are suffering just as you are. 1 Peter 5:9 Neither give place to the devil. Ephesians 4:27 Put on all the armor that God gives, so you can defend yourself against the devil's tricks. Ephesians 6:11 Nehemiah 4 13 So I put some of the people behind the lowest places along the wall, and I put them by the holes in the wall. I put families together, with their swords, spears, and bows. 14 After looking over everything, I stood up and spoke to the important families, the officials, and the rest of the people. I said, “Don’t be afraid of our enemies. Remember the Lord, who is great and powerful! You must fight for your brothers, your sons, and your daughters! You must fight for your wives and your homes!” Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. There’s A Snake In The House Genesis 3:1-5 ESV 1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?” 2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, 3 but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’” 4 But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” The devil is real. Ephesians 6:12 ESV For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. The devil has an agenda. 2 Corinthians 11:3 ESV But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ. Swallows 1 Peter 5:8 NLT Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Acts 28:3-5 ESV 3 When Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and put them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat and fastened on his hand. 4 When the native people saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer. Though he has escaped from the sea, Justice has not allowed him to live.” 5 He, however, shook off the creature into the fire and suffered no harm. The devil is defeated.
