"Community Matters: Fairness"

11:00 am Traditional Worship

September 24, 2023 • Rev. Katherine B. Harrington • Psalm 145:1–8, Matthew 20:1–16

In Matthew 20:1-16, Jesus challenges us with a story of a vineyard owner who pays all of his workers the same amount for their labor, no matter the number of hours they worked in a day. This story confronts us with our own notions of what is fair. What seems "fair" for us might not be fair for everyone. What is fair in the kingdom of God? And what roles do generosity and grace play in God's community here on earth? Join us in worship on Sunday to be challenged and encouraged by God's Word!

"Rejoice In The Lord Always"

November 26, 2023 • Zac Phelps • Romans 12:9–15, Philippians 4:4–7

We all have a light within us that represents our joy. Around Christmas time, we have things going on that both feed our joy and hinder it. However, even when happiness might be hard to come by, we can still find joy in the hope we have that bad times don’t last forever.

"A Fiery Woman"

November 19, 2023 • Rev. Katherine B. Harrington • Acts 16:11–15, Judges 4:1–7

God is always finding unlikely people and walking with them, empowering them to work for God's people in difficult times. Deborah, a judge and woman prophet, is one of those people whose story surprises us, and challenges us. This Sunday, we'll explore her story in Judges 4.

"Choose This Day"

November 12, 2023 • Rev. Katherine B. Harrington • Joshua 24:1–25, 1 Peter 2:1–9

It is estimated that the average adult makes about 35,000 choices every day, but how often do we choose God? In Joshua 24, Joshua and his family choose to serve God. Who are we going to serve? On this Commitment Sunday, we will have the opportunity to choose to serve God with our pledges to this church and to commit to choosing to serve God in all that we do, each and every day.
