March 12, 2023 • Graeme Gibson
Are there areas in your life where you feel broken? Where you’re experiencing pain or hurt because of your own decisions, or the decisions of others? Every person knows what it’s like to be broken, to sit among the ruins of our lives. The good news is, as we see in Nehemiah 12, that God is a rebuilding God. He takes our lives, enters into our situations, and rebuilds them for his renown and our benefit. Join us this Sunday as we continue our series on the Book of Nehemiah, talking about the God who rebuilds our lives, and how we get to respond in worship.
Living A Life of Confession | St. Albert Alliance March 5, 2023 Sermon
March 5, 2023 • Kirk Cowman
What does your lifestyle say about what you believe? What do the things you say, the behaviours you engage in and the actions you take every day say about God? Sometimes what we say we believe and the beliefs we reveal by our actions don’t match. That’s what happened in Jerusalem a long time ago. Having completed the wall and engaged in a month of celebration and worship, the people of Jerusalem realized that, while they had been doing a great thing for God, their way of living did not reflect what they believed about God. In Nehemiah 9 & 10, we discover a template for living a life that reveals the greatness and goodness of God every day in everything we do.

Welcome to the St. Albert Alliance Church Digital Gathering! Have you ever tried to keep a good thing going? Have you ever tried to sustain or maintain change over a long period? In Nehemiah the people of Jerusalem put aside differences and united to accomplish a great feat, the rebuilding of the city wall, but what will happen when the work is done? How can the positive changes that began with the building of the wall continue and take root in their community? In Nehemiah 8 we discover what the leaders in Jerusalem did to sustain the renewal taking place in their community. From their story we’ll discover what needs to happen in our story to experience the continuous personal renewal Jesus is offering us.

Alignment | St. Albert Alliance February 12, 2023 Sermon

Have you lost your passion or holy discontent? Over time our passions and holy discontents can fade, lose focus, or get off track and become misaligned with God’s plan. When this happens, we need an alignment. When your holy discontent is not aligned with God’s greater plan, you need the courage to reflect, confront and adjust your actions, attitudes, and behaviours to bring your life back in alignment with God’s vision for the world.

As we continue our series, Building Blocks for Life, join us as we look at how Nehemiah responded to the Holy Discontent that God had placed in his heart. Nehemiah’s vibrant prayer life, combined with an “if you want to use me you can” heart posture before God led to powerful change and meaningful transformation! God’s presence, provision and empowerment expressed through Nehemiah’s faithful and bold obedience had a significant impact. How may God want to work in and through us? A vibrant prayer life and a heart posture of “if you want to use me you can” still results in meaningful change and transformation today!
Holy Discontentment | St. Albert Alliance January 8, 2023 Sermon
January 8, 2023 • Mike Sotski
Entering a new year is often a time for resolutions - some stick, and others don’t even make it the first week. At the core of these resolutions is the sense that things are not as they should be, and it doesn’t take very long to look at our world and see that things aren’t as they should be. What if God is inviting us to be good news and participate in His work to make all things new? What if this sense of discontentment is an invitation to join Him in the work He's doing? Join us for church as we kick off our new series, Building Blocks for Life, and see how Holy discontentment can lead us to the life we were created for.
