2 Peter 3:3-9

 

1.    Do you find it difficult to talk with others about end times? Why/why not? Do you believe it’s important to discuss the biblical teachings on the End Times?

 

2.    Read 2 Peter 3:3-9. What issue was the apostle addressing? How was it impacting the Church at that time? Is it much different for believers today? How?

 

3.    To what does this passage compare the Coming of Jesus Christ? Will it affect only certain people or all creation? 

 

4.    What is the Rapture? (Read 1 Thessalonians 4:18; Isaiah 26:19-21.) Will it be public or private? Imminent or gradual? (Read 2 Peter 3:4; 1 Thessalonians 1:10; 5:1-11; Revelation 3:10; Titus 2:13; Luke 21:34.) How are we, as believers in Christ, to prepare for this ‘day’?

 

5.    What is God’s purpose for the Great Tribulation? (Read Daniel 9:20-27; Matthew 24:9, 21, 29; Revelation 6-19.)

 

6.    Why are we still waiting for ‘the Day of the Lord’ (v.10)? (See verses 8-9.) Does this comfort you, bring you hope, or scare you? Why?

 

7.    There are various different views regarding the order of events in the area of biblical eschatology. How can we as believers spur one another on toward maturity while respecting one another’s biblical convictions rather than becoming divided over different theological convictions?
