Yom Kippur

October 11, 2024 • Josh Davis, Larry Stamm

Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, is the holiest day on the Jewish calendar. Leviticus 16 and 23 describe God's prescriptions for this day. In contrast, today's traditional Rabbinic Judaism no longer sacrifices animals. Instead, they say atonement comes through prayer, repentance, and good works. However, Hebrews 9 reveals that Jesus fulfilled the role of High Priest and became the sacrifice for all sins -- the ultimate fulfillment of Yom Kippur.
