The Harvest

When We're Searching For... Pt. 9 • September 5, 2020 • Brett Ashton

Over the summer we’ve looked at a number of Psalms that have highlighted everything from our identity in God’s presence to how the psalmist relates to human suffering in a variety of ways. The promise of a harvest, of God's fruitfulness made manifest is a familiar theme in the Psalms but it also finds expression in the Gospels. In this message, the question of “who gets sent out into the harvest?” finds an answer in a Samaritan woman Jesus meets at a well. This week: Call to Worship: Psalm 103 Songs: Songs in the Night / What a Friend We Have in Jesus Peace of Christ Community Life & Offering with Robin Johnson Call to Listen Message Text: Psalm 85/ John 4:27-42 Benediction

Vengeance (Psalm 94)

When We're Searching For... Pt. 7 • August 22, 2020 • Dr. Clyde Glass

We humans like to take matters into our own hands. Even when, or perhaps especially when, we get hurt by someone or are offended by someone. It’s our human inclination to want to get back at people when they do us wrong. We are drawn to vengeance, to vindication. Just look at social media. The Psalm we’re turning to in this teaching, speaks the language of vengeance and models for us what we do with it before God. An Online Litugry in lieu of our regular weekend worship gatherings. This week: Call to Worship: Psalm 145 Songs: Open Up the Heavens / Holy Spirit Peace of Christ Community Life & Prayers of the People with Jesus Salazar Call to Listen Message Text: Psalm 94 Benediction
