Rediscover Jesus: The Great Beginning

"When we first accepted Christ, many of us had special joy, passion, and love at the beginning of our relationship with Christ. Like any relationship, feelings come and go; there is a different rush when the relationship is new. If you want more intimacy with God, you are not alone. If you are not sure what you believe any more, you are not alone. If you are part of a growing trend of people walking away from Christianity as they’ve known it, to simply being spiritual or trusting more in science (as if it has to be one or the other), you are not alone. If you consider yourself Christian, but the lures of this world’s culture, comfort, and complacency are huge temptations pulling you away from God, without the power, faith, or trust in God you thought you had, you are not alone. Perhaps you fall somewhere else on the spectrum: For example, you believe in God and try to follow Jesus, but you wonder why you don’t feel happier, more fulfilled, or have a sense of purpose, mission, and vision; something is missing, and you are not alone. What if the sense that something is missing is actually an invitation not to move away, but to move forward in God’s direction and rekindle, reboot, and rediscover who Jesus really is? When something is missing or lost, the guidance is always to go back to where you last had it by retracing your steps back to the beginning. This sermon series, “Rediscover Jesus,” will journey back to the beginning to rediscover what we might have lost along the way..."
