Jesus looks for servants who actively seek His Kingdom and its righteousness. Steward what you do have, and you will see the return on your faithfulness, if not here, at the time the Master returns.

(Psalm 92:1-4; Hebrews 13:15) – February 4: When we worship, we join in the song that creation and angels already sing. Indeed, it is good to give thanks to God and worship him in song. Why? Because God inhabits the praises of His people. In other words, where His praise is loud, His presence is felt.

The scriptures tell us that God not only hears our prayers, but that He is near to those who call on Him in prayer, and that’s what we want – the nearness of God. So then, we must learn to be a people who love to call on Him in prayer.

(1 Corinthians 10; 2 Timothy 2:19-22) – January 21: To seek God wholeheartedly requires that we simultaneously stop seeking lesser things. The idols of our flesh and our culture can only offer us a cheap substitute for the ultimate satisfaction of the abundant life that God offers. We must choose to make the presence of God our “one thing.”
