Be Self-Giving

Love Like That Week 5

March 6, 2021 • Pastor Chris Cassis

Why would anyone choose to be loose? Our natural desire is to always win and be first. Jesus teaches that in order to find ourselves we must be willing to lose ourselves. You don’t sacrifice fulfillment by giving up your life – you find it. The Golden rule is to love others as you love yourselves. To put someone else's needs, wants, and desires above our own. In this message Pastor Chris teaches that in order to love like Jesus you will have to be willing to wash some feet.

Be Bold

Have you ever been lied to? If so, then you know how hard it is to trust a liar. The one thing that breaks down relationships more than anything else is dishonesty. Jesus teaches that we need to speak the truth in love. “Truth without Love is unkind and brutal, Love without truth is counterfeit and insincere.” In this message Pastor Erik teaches that in order to love like Jesus you have to be bold enough to share the truth.

Be Graceful

February 20, 2021 • Pastor Chris Cassis

Have you ever felt judged? If so, then you know how badly it hurts. Jesus teaches that when people judge others, it is robbing them of God's grace. It is impossible to be judgmental and graceful at the same time. We can’t give grace while feeling self-righteous. God’s grace is received, not achieved. Grace does not depend on what we have done for God, but rather what God has done for us. Nowhere did Jesus more clearly illustrate the concept of grace than in the story of the adulterous woman. If you want to love like Jesus, you can’t limit your love to people who deserve it. In this message Pastor Chris teaches that in order to love like Jesus you have to be willing to drop your stone.

Be Approachable

February 13, 2021 • Pastor Erik Pluemer

Have you ever felt left out? Excluded? Nothing reaches so deeply into the human personality as being included. We long to belong. Jesus understood this deep and powerful need like nobody else. It’s why He intentionally went above and beyond to show love to the outcasts. Jesus made himself accessible to anyone who felt undesirable or unwanted. In this message Pastor Erik teaches that in order to love like Jesus you have to be inclusive, not exclusive.
