John 17:22 Jesus says that it is the unity of the church that will lead to a revelation of God's love to the world. Unity and mission are tied.

Somewhere inside of every single one of us, we long for a place where we are loved and can love others. Jesus describes a community whose love is so authentic and so visible that people will look at it from the outside and recognise the truth of Jesus.
