Understanding Gratitude

November 20, 2022 • Pastor Brett Capaci • Psalm 73:1–5, Psalm 73:12

Thanksgiving is a time when we give thanks for the bountiful provision of the ultimate provider. It’s a season when we especially acknowledge how good God is. Additionally, Thanksgiving can be a great time to realign our priorities and our perspectives. In the Psalm that we examine this week, the writer, Asaph, seems to be doubting God’s goodness to him. He’s struggling with understanding what he should truly be grateful for. Yet, as we work our way through this 73rd Psalm, we begin to discover (along with Asaph) what true blessing really is and why we ought to be eternally grateful to God.

What Does the Bible Say About Hope?

November 13, 2022 • Pastor Rodney Julian • Romans 5:1–6, Romans 15:4–6

Pastor Rodney preaches a message on having a hopeful mindset. God’s love for us gives us hope in every season. In both the good and the bad times, we can rest assured that God is with us and for us.

A Mission Mindset

November 6, 2022 • Pastor Brett Capaci • John 9:1–11

As we continue in our “Mindset Series,” we examine what it looks like for us to have a mission mindset. The Scriptures say that Jesus came to earth on a mission: To seek out and to save all who were lost. This is the mission He has called us to as well: To love Him and to show and tell of His love to others.

A Forgiveness Mindset

A Purpose Mindset

October 23, 2022 • Pastor Bryndan Loritts • 2 Corinthians 4:16–18, 2 Corinthians 5:1–10

What do a smart phone, a vehicle, and a computer have in common? They are things created to make our lives easier and manageable. They were created with that purpose in mind. Likewise, if we look around us, everything we see in creation has a purpose. God does not look at His creation and say “oops.” Everything has meaning. The same is true for humanity. Every human being has purpose in their hearts; God put it there (Ecc 3:11). We can’t escape or get around this. So, as followers of the Lord Jesus, how should we then live? Well, we live with purpose! In our passage today, the apostle Paul gives us some tools in having a purpose mindset.

The Passion of a Servant

October 16, 2022 • Pastor Brett Capaci • Philippians 2:5–11

This week, we explore an amazing text in Philippians chapter 2. It is one of the four major passages in the New Testament that are considered the foundational texts for what is called “Christology” (the theology or academic study of Jesus Christ). The other three, traditionally, are found in John 1, Colossians 1, and Hebrews 1. Philippians gives us unique insight into what we sometimes refer to as “the passion”—which is (in Christianity) a Greek term that refers to the suffering and pain that Jesus experienced on the Cross as He died for us. In this Scripture passage, we can truly see the nature of Jesus as He lived and died on this earth, namely, His servanthood.

Peace of Mind

October 9, 2022 • Pastor Brett Capaci • Romans 12:1–2

In week six of our “Mindsets” sermon series, we’ll examine what it looks like for believers in Jesus to have a peaceful mindset. Stress seems to come naturally to us, yet peace is often hard to come by. If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, you have divine resources to help you in dealing with stress, and those resources are more than just therapy, pop-psychological fads, diets, and exercise regimens. Although those things can sometimes be helpful assets in handling things like stress and anxiety, as Christians, we have an additional and superseding resource—God's perfect peace.

Think Strong

You Were Made for This

September 25, 2022 • Pastor Brett Capaci • Romans 12:1–2, John 4:20–24

Everything and everyone was created by God. We were made to be in relationship with God. We were made to worship God. Every person worships something or someone—even those who deny the existence of God. Some worship idols, or money, or pleasure, some even worship themselves. Jesus had a conversation about worship with a sinful Samaritan woman whom He encountered by a well. She leaves a changed person when she realizes what true worship is all about. This text in John chapter 4 is where we focus our attention as we continue in our current sermon series on mindsets: Having a worship mindset.

Your Mindset Matters

September 18, 2022 • Pastor Rodney Julian • Romans 12:1–2

How we think impacts how we live. Our mindsets can determine our future. That’s why Scripture has so much to say about thoughts, minds and perspectives.. In this message, we’ll take a look at how important it is to be intentional with our thoughts and attitudes. When we fix our minds on Christ and embrace his way of thinking, it leads to life and peace.
