An Evening With Sr. Helen

Sister Helen Prejean joins us to shares her knowledge on the death penalty and her experience counseling individual death row prisoners. If you are not familiar with Sister Prejean, she is a leading American advocate for the abolition of the death penalty. The movie, Dead Man Walking portrayed her journey as a nun who befriended a convicted murderer on death row. Sr. Prejean has been instrumental in sparking national dialogue on the death penalty and helping to share the Catholic Church’s newly vigorous opposition to state executions. She travels around the world giving talks about her ministry and she considers herself a southern storyteller.
