We’ve seen that Paul instructed the Colossians regarding living out of the new life given to them by Christ. This week we’ll see that he then turned the attention to those outside the church. In this passage Paul calls these believers to pray for those who need Christ and to look for open doors for the gospel to reach the lost. We will be encouraged to be steadfast in prayer and to be wise in how we seek to share the gospel with others.

This Sunday we begin our summer series through the book of Colossians. Paul wrote this letter from prison to believers in Colossae in order to encourage them to keep growing in Christ despite false teachings that were threatening the faith of some in their church. Paul reminded these believers that Jesus is the supreme ruler who is more than worthy of their faith and devotion. All praise, honor, and glory belong to Jesus! As we look at the first 8 verses of this letter, we will see that the gospel works through hope, and it always bears fruit! Join us as we jump into Colossians!
