JAN 26 - Cold

Psalm 147:15–18, Job 37:5–13, Matthew 24:9–14, Acts 27:43—28:2, 2 Corinthians 11:25–27

Complaining about the cold is a favorite past time for many people. Most people don't like the cold and yet, cold temperatures afford opportunity to enjoy the snow and ice in fun ways like skiing and skating. Regardless of whether you love or hate the cold, it can prompt some valuable meditation. Take some time to experience the cold, to think about it, and to let the cold point your mind and heart toward your Creator.

JAN 31 - Winter Sunset

Psalm 113, Malachi 1:11, Ecclesiastes 11:6–10, Psalm 50:1–2, Psalm 19:1–5

Many people would describe sunsets as their favorite element or natural occurrence in God's creation. There is good reason that King David penned the words, "The heavens declare the glory of God" (Psalm 19:1). The pastel oranges, pinks, and purples amidst snow-capped mountains and frosted trees are truly breathtaking. Do not miss the opportunity this winter to experience the glorious truths that a beautiful sunset communicates and meditate upon how sunsets shed light on the character of God.
